Did you remodel your entire home? If so, were there specific rooms that were more challenging than others? Why?
Yes, it was a complete home remodel, and it isn't quite finished yet. The most challenging room so far has been the kitchen. Picking paint colors was tricky as the north light changed the paint colors we chose, so we painted the walls twice!
How did you choose the hardware featured in this project? What attracted you to Grandeur Hardware?
I had seen these door handles in a friend's house and immediately fell in love with them and knew I had to have them in my own home!
Will you use this hardware again in other projects/areas of your home? If so, why?
Yes, absolutely! We will build an addition in the new year, and I will definitely use it again. It is one of my favorite things about our home!
Did you learn any tips and tricks about door hardware and hinges along the way that would benefit others?
Do not over-tighten any screws! If you do, the door handle will not work correctly.
What is your design style, and how do you incorporate those decorating decisions within your home?
I like many styles, but my current home is a ranch-style house and more on the traditional side of the spectrum, so we designed everything around that.
Where do you find design inspiration?
I follow a lot of interior designers on Instagram, and I always save the photos they post.
How did you choose a house to buy and renovate?
We lived in a 950 sq ft house, so anything bigger than that was a huge plus. The most important thing for us was the location and having a nice backyard - our new backyard is fantastic. It was worth renovating this house to have the backyard.
Many people want to take on large remodeling projects. What are some recommendations for readers who wish to do an extensive remodel project?
Get a designer! Have someone else who does this full-time be in charge of everything. Trust me.
What are some tips for readers who wish to make a transformation in their home?
Start with paint and door hardware. You will be shocked at how much both of those things change a home.
What is next?
We are starting the design process of our primary suite addition, and this time we are working with an interior designer. It will be a much smoother ride!
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
I genuinely LOVE my door hardware. Every time I look at any of my doors, I get so much joy. They are stunning and elevate our home to make it feel so special. Thank you so much!
