Cindy Fowler started the blog and Instagram channel, Redesignedspace, about six years ago. It began as a creative outlet to share everything she is passionate about and has become a perfect example of who she is. Cindy notes, "I love designing, redecorating, and styling my home. My addiction to decor has me constantly rearranging my rooms, moving decor around the house, and continuously refreshing a space." See her recent update with Grandeur Hardware in our latest blog.
Cindy and her husband have been working on their Florida ranch-style home since the day they moved in. Because they are true DIYers, they take their projects one day at a time, slowly turning the home into the modern farmhouse of their dreams. The wallpaper-infested, dark, outdated home was a fixer-upper in every sense of the word when they first moved in. And although it has pushed them to their limits, their hard work is finally starting to pay off.
When Cindy began looking for hardware, she knew she wanted something unique and well-made. Once she found Grandeur Hardware, she had difficulty choosing which style to go with. Ultimately, our new Fifth Avenue Square Rosette in Vintage Brass seemed like a classic choice, befitting her house. Because our hardware has easy-to-follow installation instructions, adding it to her home only took a day to complete.
Cindy learned it's essential to determine the door's function (passage, privacy, or dummy) when ordering door hardware. From there, users should choose a style and finish that works well throughout their house, something to complement other fixtures, and quality hardware that holds up over time.
Regarding her design style, Cindy felt hers is a tasteful mix of styles. "Your style is what you love!" She finds much of her inspiration on Instagram, Pinterest, and some of her favorite magazines. She said, "New design ideas are constantly emerging. The trendy new restaurant that opened around the corner, your friend's place, and that fabulous hotel you stayed at during your last vacation." We agree - finding inspiration in the surrounding world is so fun!
When starting a project, Cindy will take her time to adequately prepare for the process. She feels this makes everything run much smoother and more successfully! She always creates a mood board, a budget, and a timeline.
She also feels it's imperative to find a reputable contractor for extensive remodeling projects and have an order for your renovations. "If you're like most people, you tackle one project, save up some money, start another project, and so on. Make sure you don't go at your to-do list randomly. Instead, go at it with an organized plan of attack. When things are done out of order, it creates unnecessary work, which can be very expensive."
As far as tips for readers who wish to transform their home, she believes remodeling and transforming a space is deeply personal. "Envision how you can get the most joy out of your home. Sit down with your family, ask yourselves what you love about your home and what bothers you, and start there. Decorating a home doesn't have to be complicated or expensive. Make your home YOU! Make it your haven."
When asked if there was anything else she'd like to share, Cindy pointed out, "I am thrilled with how the Grandeur door hardware looks. It is timeless and feels like it belongs—precisely as I hoped."
Thank you, Cindy!
